How to tell if a website is secure? Is this website safe?

The URL has been incorrectly formatted
A trusted website that asks for personal information will have a URL beginning with “HTTPS ://.”. HTTP is the basis of how information on the Internet is transmitted. Nearly all websites use it.
It does not have a privacy policy
Websites that don’t have a privacy policy should be avoided. They will not be able to honor your privacy rights without one. You could be using a fake website if you don’t have a privacy policy. You should not fall for a fake website.
It has an expired SSL certificate
An expired SSL certificate means that a website, including all information entered, is vulnerable to attack.
There is no badge verification
Every secure website will display a “Secure & Verified” badge near the bottom. For more information, click on the badge. The information you provide should be consistent with the website you are using. You could be using malicious web pages if it does not match.
It doesn’t have a lock icon
Most secure websites include the lock icon. The URL address bar is located at the top of the browser to the left and the URL icon to the right. Fake websites might not have a lock icon or create one. To view additional information about the site, click on the lock icon.
